Join a guided trekking tour and enjoy the unique Sifnian nature, while learning the amazing history, the myths and the legends of the island!
- With the guidance and help of a local cook -writer of the “traditional recipes of Sifnos” cookbook-, you and your team will prepare and cook a full Greek meal, from meze to main course, in a cozy, friendly and relaxed atmosphere!
- The 3-4 hour cooking session takes place in a traditional sifnian house built in 1926.
- All ingredients you will use are easy to find all over the world. Many of those you will use at the session are homegrown.
When the meal is ready, you can choose to stay and enjoy with your team the meal you prepared, or take it away and enjoy it with your friends and family.
Before leaving you will be given notes on the recipes you prepared so that you can cook again everything in your own kitchen!

Either you are familiar with Greek Folk music or not, you can learn 1 – 3 Greek folk dances that you can dance everywhere in Greece and wherever in the world Greeks celebrate.
You can also have a dancing lesson as an activity for your family holidays, or your wedding guests, or the students group you escort.
Greek folk dances are a good exercise and after an hour you will feel like having been at the gym!
You don’t need special clothes or shoes, just be comfortable, even bare feet are fine! Depending on the number of participants, the session can be done almost anywhere: on the beach, at a church yard, a hotel open area, also indoors if preferred.
At the end you take notes on the steps and an audio CD with the music so that you can practice again back home.

See some of the most important, most beautiful and most popular spots on the island with the help and from the point of view of a local guide! Visit picturesque churches, villages with Cycladic architecture and other with medieval, venetian architecture, ancient monuments, pottery workshops or anything else that might interests you, in a relaxed way, at your pace, with answers to all your questions about the island and life here!

Sifnos is an ideal place for trekking/hiking especially in spring and early summer, April, May, June and in autumn, September, October and November.
There are many kilometers of footpaths all over Sifnos, some of them signed and some not, some with stone steps and some without, protected by dry stone walls, connecting villages, leading to monasteries on top of hills or strolling inside NATURA protected area.
On your way you can see stone storehouses, little chapels, ancient towers and historic monuments, goats and sheep grazing lazily or climbing lively, small cultivated pieces of land, many herbs, plants, flowers and our protected kind of cedar tree.
There are more than one hiking maps to purchase if you want to try some of the routes yourself and most of the marked routes are easy to follow. So, if this is what you want, you probably don’t need a guide. But if you would like to know more about the island, talk with a local about habits and customs, myths and legends of the island, religious celebrations and stories, information about everyday life in the past and present, authenticity and tourist traps, but also history, architecture, agriculture, pottery and gastronomy, then having a local guide is the easiest and most interesting way to do it!! Routes are planned on request according to the special interests, ages and stamina, needs and wishes of the participants and usually last about 2 – 4 hours.
You don’t need special equipment to join, only walking shoes, water and hat! And a camera for photos of course!
It is not advisable to join though, in case you suffer from any respiration, heart or other health problems. Asthma, diabetes, and other health problems easier to be controlled it is advisable to be mentioned to the guide in order to avoid any inconvenience.
